Who require plan approval? |
|
| |
Any person who wishes to commence or carry out any proposed
fire safety works in any building shall apply in accordance with
the Regulations made under the Fire Safety Act to the Fire Safety
and Shelter Department (FSSD) for approval of the plans of the fire
safety works. Such plans shall be prepared and submitted by Qualified
Persons (QPs) who are registered architects or professional engineers.

is qualified for making plan submission.

• One set of plan;
• Application form FSSD-PA;
• Plan fees;
• QP's declaration form;
• Occupancy load calculations and unprotected opening calculations,
where applicable;
• Other supporting documents if any.

All plans, calculations, QP's report and application form shall
be signed by the QP. All plans shall be of standard metric 'A' series
sizes. |

2) Submission Requirements for Air
Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation Plan |

•Pressurization staircase calculations and smoke control calculations

3) Submission

• Other supporting documents if any.

be signed by the QP.

4) Submission Requirements
for Change of Use |
|
| |
A change of use application shall be incorporated in the building
plan submission.
QP is required to specify clearly in the project titles on plans
and in the application forms the proposed intention of the change
of use. No separate submission is required.
|

**NOTE: Fire Safety Works do not
require submission to SCDF |
|

Under the Exemption Order of the Fire Safety Act, the following
fire safety works which are installed in the building works do not
require submission to Fire Safety & Shelter Department:
1. Detached dwellings not exceeding 3 storeys or 3 levels, including
basement.
2. Alterations and additions to residential flats, maisonettes,
townhouses which do not increase the floor area or affect the common
areas, entrance doors, or walls separating the residential units
from the common areas.
3. Swimming pools in detached, semi-detached and terrace houses.
4. Retaining walls, fencing and boundary walls.
5. Guard houses.
6. Detached bin centres.
7. Oil sumps and grease interceptors.
8. Chimneys.
9. Awnings over windows and doorways.
10. Flag poles and signboards.
11. Cooling towers.
12. Automated teller machines, ticket kiosks and taxi kiosks, not
being part of a building.
13. Goliath cranes at shipyards.
14. Standalone single-storey Electrical Substations not exceeding
22KV.
15. Standalone single-storey Main Distribution Frame (MDF) rooms.
